  13. forums, I'm trying to catch as many
  14. people as possible:
  15. As many of you are probably aware, I
  16. acquired a license to sell JiffyDOS
  17. earlier this year and am now ramping
  18. up sales.
  19.  
  20. To that end, I am trying to
  21. reconstruct the exact product
  22. offerings that CMD offered. This
  23. means verifying images, and
  24. determining what original ROM images
  25. CMD supplied with each overlay.
  26.  
  27. Thus, if anyone can use a DOS ROM
  28. reading utility (or EPROM reader) and
  29. can send me a copy of the both halves
  30. of the JDOS ROM, I'm still struggling
  31. with the following systems.

  33. 1571: I have three versions here, but
  34. cannot determine which is correct.
  35.   The MD5s are:
  36. 41c6cc528e9515ffd0ed9b180f8467c0,
  37. 6b4d46b28b7414d5a82cea4972894600, and
  38. d649fa6b0108c20ce213f5496d5980a5.
  39. What is the version number on the ROM
  40. sticker?)

  42. 1571D:  I have a 1571D JiffyDOS ROM
  43. here, but it looks to be a 1571DCR
  44. (the cost reduced version).  Notes
  45. indicate a non-CR 1571D used a normal
  46. 1571 JD ROM overlay, but I'd like to
  47. verify that.

  49. MSD SD1/SD2:  I am trying to
  50. determine the version of MSD code in
  51. the lower half of the U5 JiffyDOS for
  52. SD2.  The MD5 is
  53. 1a2efac3b96decf83fba27bc17c5a8a7.  I
  54. checked against my SD2-2.3 version
  55. here, but they are different.  Also,
  56. is the SD1 JiffyDOS the same as SD2
  57. version?

  59. Indus GT: I do not have an original
  60. JDOS for this, so I need a dump to
  61. compare.

  63. 1541C:  Again, I do not own an
  64. original JDOS for this machine.

  66. I understand there is a Swedish
  67. version of JiffyDOS for the C128 and
  68. C128D (and possibly for the C64)
  69. [Update:  I have been sent copies of
  70. the Swedish JiffyDOS ROMs, but I'd
  71. still be interested in what version
  72. of KERNAL was included as the
  73. "original" KERNAL for these units.]

  75. German/Finnish JiffyDOS variants?

  77. Any help folks can provide would be
  78. much appreciated.   In fact, if you
  79. have an original JDOS, no matter the
  80. type and can dump it for me (both the
  81. original and the JD portions), that'd
  82. be great.  Anything you can tell me
  83. about the setup - sticker legend
  84. (version number, etc.), machine
  85. variant (128, 128D, 128DCR, etc.),
  86. video standard (PAL/NTSC), and
  87. whether it had a switch on the ROM -
  88. is good information to share.

  90. To clarify, I know there are bootleg
  91. archives available, but I can't
  92. consider them authoritative.  In
  93. addition, the archives would not tell
  94. me what CMD placed in the non-JD half
  95. of the EPROM on units with switches.
  96. I would prefer to check against
  97. genuine copies of the overlays if at
  98. all possible.
